Conveyr: A CRM for the Solar Industry

Overview

The Challenge

A solar franchise was using a wall of clipboards to manage construction projects. Salesforce was costly to tailor and had to be shared across the entire franchise. A user-friendly solution for uncomplicated business processes, primarily construction, was needed.

The Solution

A simple, task-forward, CRM that was less rigid, easily customizable, and user-friendly enough for construction crews to use without training. The UI focuses primarily on shared and individual to-do lists, segmenting projects into “stages” with associated tasks.

Impact

  • Surfaced projects that hadn’t been making progress.
  • Clearly highlighted “what’s next” for each project.
  • Reduced inbound status requests by proactively delivering automated, lifecycle-based email updates.
  • Automatically gave employees a to-do list, without having to click into each project.

Technical Approach

Subscription-based Task Assignment

Employees selected which “phases” they were involved in and their dashboard displayed an aggregated list of tasks, no assignment necessary.

Mobile Field App

Construction crews could pull customer information, upload pictures, complete checklists, and log inspection data all without a computer.

Customer Portal

With progress data all in one place, implementation was easy. The portal improved transparency and trust throughout the installation process.

Project Analytics

With a tailored tool, dashboards could be prebuilt to highlight where projects are getting stuck, which teams are overloaded, and more.
